Shaving Head 4 Children's Stollery

Donation protected
My name is Raquel, my daughter Cadence is 11 years old.  This year Cadence asked if she could participate in the Hair Massacre Event and donate her long lovely blonde curly hair to the sick kids that have lost their hair.  I wanted to allow her to take part this year, however I was a little selfish and because we had a wedding coming up, I chose to not cut her hair off at the main event.  Instead, she shaved her head in front of her peers at her school Monsignor William Irwin Catholic School on October 1st at 11:15am! Stephanie from Detailz Hair Salon In Edmonton came to the school to make Cadence's dream of donating her hair for sick kids come true!

This delay had also allowed Cadence the opportunity to raise additional funds for the Charity of her choice.   Cadence chose to raise funds for the Children's Stollery in Edmonton.  She was hoping to raise $10,000.00 to donate to the Children's Stollery at the head shave, but came up short.  Cadence has decided to continue with her fundraising efforts until she reaches her goal.

Because of her age, we struggled with ideas for her to raise funds for her campaign.  Below outlines what we have done so far and what is presently going on!

Cadence celebrated her 11th birthday on May 2nd.  She had an 80's themed party on May 24th and asked in lieu of gifts for her friends to donate to her campaign. A HUGE thank you to all of her friends who contributed $255.00 towards her campaign!

Cadence went door to door with an adult asking for bottles in the Terwillegar Neighborhood.  She raised $211.00 with the support of our neighbours!  Thank you to everyone who donated!  We are still collecting bottles until the end of September and if you have any that you would like to get rid of, we are happy to pick them up!

Some of the things that we have in the works are as follows:

She will be hosting an Art Auction on the radio and all proceeds will go towards her campaign.  Cadence attends art classes with Penny McInnis at The Canvastone Art Gallery in Edmonton.  She has worked very hard with her teacher on all of her pieces and is very excited to do the auction in September before the head shave!  Congratulations to Larry Stewart for winning the first painting and his generous donation of $500.00!

She he will be doing a Pampered Chef Fundraiser in September for the entire month!  My ambitious 11 year old on her journey to raise $10,000 dollars for The Edmonton Children's Stollery needs your help! This fundraiser will be taking place the entire month of September!  Take this opportunity to support my little girls fundraising efforts by shopping early for Christmas! Perhaps there is a birthday coming up, or an Anniversary, a BridalShower or a Wedding? How about just because you LOVE Pampered Chef?  There are several ways to order and support Cadence:

I want to see her reach her goal because it is very important to her.  This is a very proud Mommy moment for me and although it will be different to see her without any hair, I am excited about her being so brave and taking on this challenge.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read our page and making my little girl smile and helping her feel a huge sense of pride in this accomplishment.
