Spinal surgery

My name is Karen Spina. I am a mom to 2 amazing kids that are the center of my world. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and Surgical tech at an animal hospital that has become a second home to me. I was able to have my dream career after graduating for a very short time before a rare medical condition robbed me of everything. I have a CSF leak in my spine causing the fluid around my brain to become to low and my brain sags causing horrible headaches that never stop. I have had a constant headache for over 4 years without even a minute of a break. About 8 years ago I suffered a fall which resulted in the leak. After countless doctors, medications and procedures, the hole in my spine progressively got larger causing my symptoms to be come more severe over the years. Each time it became worse, I lost another part of my life. Last year resulted in me having to leave my job. In the last few months I have spent over 90% of every day laying down because it's the only way to deal with the pain. I can't enjoy my life with my children when I can barely even make  meal for them. For the last 2 years I have fought doctors and insurance companies time and time again and finally got the attention of one of the top Spinal leak specialists in the United States. He has agreed to attempt to fix the leak and try to improve my symptoms, in turn potentially giving my life back. My insurance company covers 60% of my testing and the surgery which will take place in California. I am responsible for all co-pays for the surgery and the other 40% of the bill, my flights and hotel, along with trying to take care of my apartment and my children. I am reaching out for help to cover some costs in hopes of a miracle with this surgery.
