December 9th, 2016
Dear Family, Friends, Bay Area, and Deaf Community,
California School for the Deaf (CSD) Eagle Cheerleading Squad has been known for its strength and energetic spirit for many years.
On December 4th, 2016, CSD High School Varsity Cheerleading Squad attended to the United Spirit Association (USA) Regional Hearing Competition for the first time since 2004. The audience and judges were amazed that deaf cheerleaders can dance, throw flyers in the air, jump high, and are full with energy on the cheer floor. The audience was joyfully cheering for the CSD cheerleading squad. The results came in, and we won 2nd place in the competition. Moreover, we are excited to announce that we are qualified for the National competition at Disneyland in Southern California on March 24 – 26, 2017!
Unfortunately, our school athletics department’s budget at CSD is not adequately enough to fully cover the expenses for our team. Despise our numerous fundraisers in the past, parents and coaches had to contribute money from their own pockets to help cover expenses for our cheerleading squad. Additional expenses that will not be covered by our past contributions include the training equipment, the USA Nationals competition fees, flight tickets, hotel, and food.
We are turning to the community in Bay Area for the support given our insufficient funds. We generously are asking from our extended friends, families, and organizations to consider a donation to our squad. We would appreciate your financial sponsorship. We hope that you will help support the costs for our participation at the Nationals.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this letter. We hope you consider supporting us and make a donation. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me and visit our website at www.csdathletics.com.
Go Eagles!
Cheers,
CSD Cheerleading Squad
