As teachers who work in the Cambridge Public School district that has many low-income families and students with special needs, we felt that our population of kids deserved an opportunity to travel, experience new things, and give back to another community in need.   This trip is designed to give our students at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School, who work so hard everyday at school, a chance to travel to the Dominican Republic to earn community service hours.  In the D.R., students will be immersed in everyday life, experiencing the food, culture, and language of the people who live there.   They will also be participating in projects and workshops including working with local communities, families, and schools as well as improving upon personal leadership skills and self-discovery.

To send one student to the D.R. for a week, providing food and accommodations, it will cost approximately $3,000.  Many of our students are in need of financial support in order to participate in this experience, so we're asking for your help!  Please check out our website for more information about what our students will be doing in the Dominican Republic.  Any contribution, large or small, would help!
