Hi there! We’re Daniel and Lizzy, circus nomads who have spent our adult lives traveling the world, sharing our passion for circus craft with students and audiences alike. Over the years, we’ve done a bit of everything—from designing and installing custom rigging systems to writing, directing, and producing full-length shows. But we are best known as flying trapeze coaches, having played a pivotal role in launching and leading multiple trapeze programs at professional and recreational circus schools across North America.
Flying trapeze is a rare, infrastructure-heavy discipline. It requires large-scale rigging, net systems, safety hardware, anchors, hauling systems, and trained staff. Because of that, very few cities have permanent programs. Albuquerque currently does not have a dedicated flying trapeze rig — and we’re working to change that.
The good news: we already own the rig, the net, and the core equipment needed to operate safely.
What we need now is help covering the startup costs required to bring it online in Albuquerque.
We have chosen Albuquerque, New Mexico as the home for this next chapter. With its bold creative energy and independent spirit, it’s the right place to build something new: the city’s first dedicated flying trapeze training program, and eventually a permanent circus training and performance space built around it.
We are currently seeking a temporary outdoor location where we can erect our full flying trapeze rig while we work toward a long-term facility. Launching a program of this scale comes with significant upfront expenses — even when you already own the equipment.
Your support will help cover:
• Site preparation and anchor installation
• Permits, insurance, and legal setup costs
• Transportation and deployment of the rig
• Initial operating expenses while enrollment builds
• Basic production infrastructure for early community events
This campaign isn’t about buying a dream — it’s about activating one.
We’ve spent years building the expertise and acquiring the equipment. Now we’re asking for support to take the final step: installing Albuquerque’s first flying trapeze rig and opening it to the public.
At the same time, we’re continuing to build the Circus STEPS online platform to support circus artists everywhere — with Albuquerque as our physical home base.
This campaign is the first step toward something permanent. As we demonstrate demand and build momentum, we’ll pursue larger funding efforts to support a full season of shows and a long-term facility.
Thank you for helping us bring flying trapeze to Albuquerque for the first time.
