HOW I GOT HERE
In 2014 I started taking acting classes. I fell in love with it immediately. It was an up hill battle at first because I struggled with memorization and stage fright. It still is a battle. I’ve supported my acting with car detailing the last 5 ½ years. I've consistently had to make financial sacrifices to keep it going. One winter I detailed extra cars and saved $4,000 so I could take an acting course in New York. This was everything I had at the time. These kinds of decisions have become normal in my pursuit of this profession. In many ways I know the struggle makes the whole process special. I'm at the point now where I know this is what I want to do. I'm going all in.
Last summer I was dead set on moving to Hollywood to pursue acting. I sold my car and most of my belongings. A month out I had a feeling I wasn’t supposed to go. This feeling made no sense to me, but I couldn’t shake it. Here we are now a year later. The world has changed – including movie making. The film industry is shut down in Hollywood and elsewhere. I felt like I was supposed to look into England during the same time I decided not to go to Hollywood. Again this made no sense to me as I had never thought about it before. Sometimes you have to follow your instinct even when it makes no sense. The more I looked into training in the U.K. the more I was drawn to this idea. Long story short I flew out to the U.K in January to audition for Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. I found out I was accepted in July.
ABOUT BRISTOL OLD VIC THEATRE SCHOOL
Started in 1946 by Sir Lawrence Olivier, BOVTS is one of the top acting conservatoires in the world. They accept 14 people each year into their international MFA acting course. They have many notable alumni including Daniel-Day Lewis, Patrick Stewart, Jeremy Irons, Olivia Coleman, Naomi Harris, and many more. This is such a rare opportunity to train here.

WHY I WANT TO DO THIS
I want to go to England because I believe it will make me better. It will take me deeper into the craft and sharpen my skills. I love acting because it’s a medicine for my soul. Amazing storytelling has the power to influence nations, culture, and speak life into people. It’s done this for me. It’s one of the few things I never get tired of talking about it! My goal one day is to tell stories that act as a medicine for people. I’m stepping away from my car detailing business of 9 years to go all in.
WHAT IT COSTS
$25,000. This is for housing, utilities, food, and other living expenses for one year.
CONCLUSION
If you have dreams like me it would mean so much to have your support. I will keep you all updated on everything including when I’m in school. I will honor your gifts with my commitment to share stories that make the world better!
