My dad, Charles William Morris, was a complex and multifaceted man. As a little girl, I may have missed out on some of the traditional father-daughter experiences, but as I grew older, I had the opportunity to get to know him in new ways. Even in his later years, when dementia began to take its toll, I saw glimpses of the man he once was - a HellCat with a heart of gold.
Beneath his tough exterior, Dad was a sweet, loving, and kind man. He had a way of making those around him feel seen and loved, and his passion for the Lord was evident in the way he lived his life as an Evangelist. His love for cooking was more than just a hobby - it was a way of nourishing body and soul, and bringing people together.
Despite life's ups and downs, Dad's door was always open to his family, no matter his circumstances. He welcomed us with open arms, always ready to share a meal, a laugh, or a listening ear. As I reflect on our relationship, I'm grateful for the time we had together as adults, and for the moments of connection we shared even in the midst of his struggles with dementia.
But life had one more unexpected turn - Dad's passing came suddenly, leaving us stunned and heartbroken. And with him being on Social Security, we're now facing the added burden of funeral expenses, with no income to fall back on. That's why we're reaching out to those who knew and loved Dad, to ask for help in laying him to rest with dignity. Your contribution would mean the world to us, and would help us honor Dad's memory in a meaningful way.
Dad's legacy is one of love, redemption, and the power of faith. He may have been a HellCat, but he was my HellCat, and I'll always cherish the memories we made together."
