CAPAbotics is the new program at CAPA 6-12 that is redesigning our academic and art classes to incorporate robotics. Coding, technology, and robotics are not just the future of STEAM fields but are the present. However, in middle school, students are rarely exposed to the tools that professionals are using everyday. With this grant students will use tools like RoboArms, Hydraulic simulations, coding programs, and interactive underwater and space simulations students will learn how to apply math and science concepts in real world applications, will learn how to effectively communicate directions and needs to one another, and will experience their arts in a new and modern fashion. We owe this robotics experience to our students so that we can prepare them for future STEAM careers. We owe this to the STEAM fields because we are underselling the excitement involved to our students.
