Newest Update 4/16
Headed back to La again. Ill be seeing 2-3 Different surgeons about the eyes and getting consults. Im starting to have lots of problems with them. I thought I already had problems before, but its gotten worse. Im getting headaches now behind the eye thats the worst I think it could be pushing on a nerve behind the eye. Not to even mention the dry eye. Im afraid if something doesnt get fixed it will cause permanent damage. I try to take it day by day but its hard to not think of what could continue to happen over time. Ill update when I hear more from the surgeons out here. The one I saw last year, gave me a name of another surgeon to see.
Update Oct 2015
The butcher surgeon that is to blame for all this is now 'leaving' the practice he was in in Baltimore. I use the word lightly, Im sure hes being made to leave. He has changed states. I am not the only one who had their life changed because of him ( and not in a good way) There are some things I will never get to do again because of him, if even remotely possible it would cost me another 50 grand and I have already lost over 200k because of him!
I saw a new revision specialist in LA in Sept. Much to my dismay, he was of no help. Took all I had not to really break down when I left, but Im tough and fought through it. I let myself get upset a half an hour then pulled up my big girl pants and kept going. I also saw my surgeon when in LA from the 2015 Feb revision, he too really has no answers and says what needs done is very risky. Ill be seeing him again in Dec or Jan and im telling him he will fix the shape he did so poorly at the first time. Its still so very scary.
Not to even mention the other surgery that will be done in Dec Feb or March in LA that will take me at least 4 weeks to heal from. Thats a whole other problem I rarely speak about and another 10 grand plus staying in LA because im not able to fly for 4 weeks at least.
Ill add my latest info to the top of this and let the prior info on so you can see where things stand.
Im getting a few specialists to review my CT scan reports and he CD of the orbits from that scan. Its very scary and their is major tissue loss around my eyes. Thats not a big surprise, I knew there was. I wasnt prepared for seeing it though from that point of view. It was alarming I have sought the opionion of a few specialists and they are directing me to the best type of surgeon to handle this issue. Its not and easy one. It will involve recostruting the orbital areas. This still just seems like a crazy nightmare to me. Its going to be a long road and one I have already been dealing with for 15 months. I have a video to explain a little more of this and to make others aware of the complications/risks that can happen. I had no idea any of this could ever be possible, I would have never taken that chance. If you contribute $25 or more to my journey I will send you the link to the 16 minute video.
I had my revisiom surgery on 5/6/15.
I have till Sept to pay the 10,000 in full. So ill be working hard to get that together to stay away from any interest on it. Its already cost me so much that would be crazy to have to pay interest on a surgery that was because of another surgeons neglect and careless job. The revision specialist I had was quite perplexed at the mess I had. Saw him same day as surgery because a stitch was scratchimg my eye and had me in tears thinking id have to feel that scratching my eye for 5 days. He had me run in and put a contact in ly eye to cover it. He said "you have no idea what work that was to fix" I knew it must have been because surgery ran over by 30 minutes. I was in a lot of pain after. He had to fix them the whole way around. We still will do fillers later to replace the tissue the surgeon in Baltimore dug out from around my eyes. Fingers crossed it will stick. We think he did a procedure he wasnt even suppose to do, which would make a lot of sense as to my sunken eyes. No idea why hed take it upon himself to do so. I haf a great revision surgeon snd know he diid the best he could. We are staying away from fat grafting because it could give me lumps amd bumps because the surgeon in Baltimore left me with so much scar tissue it probably wont stick either. Sooo one surgery down. Happy to be at this one behind me place. Really takes a toll and Im on my own dealing with it all. I have no support around me. Its easier to go and deal with it all myself than bother anybody else. Had to fly to CA to see lots of Surgeons. Lors of trips to Opthamologists too for tear duct plugs. Ulpper and lower :( The surgeon said i had "no tears" as did the Opthamologist. They hurt a lot because of it. Lids wont open in am well. It wakes me up a lot. Eyes cant move under lids when too dry. Its been one thing after the other. Only had temp plugs in upper lids..they dessolved alredy so pretty miserable while im healing, but have to wait for swelling to go down. Dr was out when i realized 2 days before surgery they dessolved already. Was pretty upset. I assume will be 2 weeks of the dry till can get plugs in. Dr had hard time getting them in because my lids were so messed up. Im guessing the Bmore surgeon probsbly messed up my tear ducts. He messed everything else up he touched...so makes sense. Hes double board certified and a fascial specialist. I thought I was in good hands. Clearly I was not. Have extended incisions on my upper lids now to fix the awful mess he left on outside of my one eye . The incisions he did are all stretched now. He took so much away my eyes dont shut whole way and makes the dry eye very bad. The incisions and lids are stretching to compensate. Wish I could go back to 2013, but thats not how life works.
Help me make 2015 a great year! Going to be a fight, lots to conquer. Im a fighter, ill do my best to rise above all the unfortunate that happened in 2014. There has to be better for me in 15!!
Ill know more on Jan. 27 as to what all will be done to get things closer to the way they were to be in April 2014. What a ride this has been. Lots of tears and stress that I would never care to go through again. Blah
Had a lot of people ask about surgery lately, if you want to pay to do skype while im off healing in LA, just let me know. Ill get emails still for this. Id love it if you want to keep me company. :) Im sure a friend would make my day. Xo
I was quoted 16,000 just for base line to fix my eyes. Thats not even the detailed work that will be needed to fix the bad eyes lower lid and the shape. My eyes are so dry when i wake up because they dont close correctly and the heat on. I have a humidifier on 24/7 to help and still im worried about damage to.cornea.
Ill be making a video blog before surgery, of my not so fun adventure. I want to educate others so tbis doesnt happen to them. Wont be easy putting myself out there, but this whole trial hasnt been a cake walk. I have lost so much already.
I dont even share the other half of what I deal with that happened in the same surgery. This surgeon was barbaric, neglectful and totally uncaring to do what he did to me. So many things he did others would not have done and many thing he should have and didnt. Ill see that he wont be doing this much longer to others. Hope i can save others from this pain. We all make mistakes, but this is beyond a mistake. The next surgery will be 20,000 Im guessing. That will be a trip to Miami to fix that. Crazy what one afternoon can do to your life, what one neglectful person who is hurrying to get out of work because he started 90 min later than he was suppose to, can do to a family and an individual. Life is so short, to have even a day or week taken is hard. To have a year and not sure how much more taken is really hard. I want my smile back and my happy care free self. The stresses/worry have exhausted me and make me need sleep a lot because im so drained. Hard going it totally alone during all this. Very hard. Ill have surgery in LA and Miami and be all by myself. The miami one will be very very intense. I appreciate the help and prayers! Xo
Thank you for checking it out.
