Butterflies & Blooms in the Briar

Butterflies and Blooms in the Briar Patch is a project under Eatonton Main Street. Founded in 2013, it is our mission for nature lovers to come together to create a Georgia native butterfly host and nectar based garden for the public to enjoy and learn how to incorporate the same plants into their own gardens. Located at 419 Oak St. Eatonton, GA, the habitat is free for all to enjoy and always open.
Volunteers from all areas of life experience, the common bond of recognizing the need of individual efforts to ensure that pollinators of all types are protected. Helping spread the wings in our community and hope to inspire others to do so in their own gardens and communities.
With the tremendous help of our founder, volunteers, and community, the garden was awarded The Monarch Waystation # 9045, certified from the North American Butterfly Association. We are so excited about our progress, but we need your help to make it beyond compare and out-of-this-world spectacular!
Here is what we will use the funds for:
1) A Butterfly ID Guide and Larval Host Plant Guide to leave at the habitat for visitors.
2) Larval host and nectar plants.
3) Sail cloth covers to cover the patio. They will allow the right amount of light and shade.
4) Round, rustic picknic tables and benches. We would like to get 3.
5) Free standing benches. We would like to get 4.
6) Completion of the patio. This will cover additional materials and labor not listed above.
7) A Law Enforcement Memorial. To honor those who keep us safe, day in and day out.
If we reach more than our goal, we would like to make the paths a hard surface and add playground equipment.
Spring time is here and we can't wait to make the habitat better. We are all so grateful with any donation that is received. Blutterflies and Blooms is a registered non-profit. All donations are tax deductable.
