Hi My name is Lisa DeLano, daughter of Lou and Elaine Hillary (also known as Busia and Papa to many)
Anybody who knows Busia and Papa knows what a heart they have for helping others. People keep asking me what they can do for them. If you feel like you want to help them financially consider giving to this.
As many of you know we had the heart tugging decision to put Lou on Hospice last week. My mom said, " I feel like I am signing him away, giving up." My response to her is you are signing him off, off to God who loaned him to you. Lou has had M.S. for 30 years. Recently he fell hurting his hip. He was doing okay for 2-3 days. He went down hill from there. My mom called the ambulance and he went right into ICU. They tested him, monitored him and treated him. They released him to Marywood academy for rehap. He made it two days there and was back In ICU. After many tests they discovered he had a couple infections in his body. His body is to weak to fight them off. His organs are starting to shut down. After much prayer and pricing places out my mom decided on Trillium woods hospice care. Now hospice care is covered by insurance. However what I never knew is the room at $325 a day is not covered. Extra medical tests are not, funerals are not, gas to drive across town to be with him is not, getting take out all the time is not. It all adds up. My dad has not been able to work since 2000. My mom takes any jobs she can get and yet still care for my dad. My mom is an amazing women who gets her strength from God.
We have been celebrating my dads life with diet coke and ice cream sundeas (his two favorite). Rejoicing he gets to soon meet Jesus and have his heavenly body. However it still tugs at hearts. I started this page to help my mom pay for some of the things she will have to deal with after the death. They give him 1-6 weeks. That can add up as we get more days with dad. We would be so grateful if everyone just gave $10 (gave up a coffee one day) and donated. Please pray if this is something you should donate to. The money will go towards his stay at tillium woods and the medical uncovered bills and the funeral (which is at reyers)
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts in partnering with us as we help our mom.
