Feb 2025 Still kickin!
Buddy's still doing okay, though the tumor has developed considerably. The cost of his medications went up, and we need to get some bloodwork this week at a reduced-cost clinic that we still can't afford. I'll update with an invoice, but it should only be 100 for the labs and 70 for the visit. Thanks for caring for us, and please get in touch if you have any time to spend with him!
Long time no update! Buddy's been lucky beyond odds; the prognosis for canine nasal adenocarcinomas is about 3 months, but he's lucked out and had a good run of a few months recently with very little symptoms/suffering and the local edema/pressure has been very low.
He had his first seizure last fall, which disqualified him for the hydropulsion procedure, and he seemed nearing time for euthanasia, but the med change at that point helped immensely... and that's held through so far, though things are starting to get a bit worse again for him. (visits/affection mean a lot to him if you can!)
I'm so grateful that it's been a protracted battle, but I'm ashamed to admit I can't afford the cost of his palliative medication (5 separate meds) much less any actual cancer treatment, and though I'm overjoyed to have him almost "back from the dead," we've been running a budget deficit for at least three to four months (longer really). Fortunate that credit has helped, but it's maxed out and the score is getting wrecked, ruining my odds of consolidating the debt any time soon.
Any help affording his medications and the debt incurred to care for his high medical needs for longer than anyone expected would make a massive impact on us and all of the people we love and support and who love and support us in return. Let me know any ways we can return the favor or show our gratitude as well!
