Who are we?
Elissa Barclay and Adam Levy are our names. We met three years ago while I was having Chemotherapy. I became very ill and Elissa was a great support for many months.

When we met I had just got my medical marijuana exemption and was using it to curb nausea, hold down my food and meds, and even just be able to eat.

Elissa an I have struggled through poverty, addictions and stigma. However this has empowered us to help others with all we learnt through school and our personal survival through hardships.

What we do:
We provide information and freely educate those seeking alternatives to prescription medication.

We provide a free counselling service as well senior support,  staff always on hand  or available same day
( psychotherapist and Social Service counsellor).

When a client decides to make an educated decision about their treatment option, we aid in accessing these medications.

We also are a community art hub. Barc's Buds has a small gallery where we curate local/neighborhood artists and provide a free method to hang and exhibit their art.  Our artists are moslty struggling so can set their price and keep 90 percent of that sale.

As you can see from our photos we are stuck and in need of more infrastructure. We rented a big empty store, and built what we could afford however,  rents are very high in Toronto and we have a huge debt load from the construction and set up.

We built the front gallery as well we built the dispensary. We need to still build a therapy room, a proper washroom and sink as well as outside store signage, inside  lighting, doors and locks, electrical work and drywall work.

We also tend to give a lot of credit and charge a very low price in order to insure our clients can access their medication. We need to raise enough money to help subsidize certain clients on O.W. or ODSP or low to zero income.

Does it work?
Well the jury is still out, however some true patient stories:   A fellow with Parkinson's Disease was unable to walk to the end of his driveway to pick up the morning paper, now he does it without even a cane, It was instant.

Here is another true story.  A young woman with epilepsy was unable to drive, swim or even risk crossing the street alone. She suffered over 10 full body (grand mal) seizures a day. That was 3 weeks ago. Last week she started swimming lessons. The R.O.S. oil has almost totally controlled the seizures.  There are many more examples.  This helps Schizophrenia, Epilepsy, Autism, PTSD, Restless Leg Syndrome, Neuropathy, Chronic Pain (many clients stopped eating Oxycet/Percocet type pain meds thanks to the high grade Sativa).

Elissa and I both have extensive experience with illness, social work, addiction, counselling.  We met while I was on chemo and taking medical marijuana to eat.  So we have a passion to help as many people as possible through compassion and love.

What is the money for?
To  continue to help our members and those to come.  We need a sign for the storefront, we need a kitchen and proper licensing to supply edibles. We need to build a counselling room for therapy as well as other basic infrastructure.  We need many small things, including lighting, laundry sink, steel door, tools, some vaporizers as well as cleaning supplies, locks and special stocked items.

Why bother?
This is Elissa's and my dream to be independant and help others in our own special way. We are commited to making a better world by providing options for our clients.  We have cash advanced our credit cards and borrowed everything we could.  Our apartments monthly rent has fallen behind, but we hold tight as we know with a little help this community model will provide support for ourselves, our members and our families.    With integrity, education, and choice  our clients make their own decisions on their treatment options.  Any gift is appreciated.

Thanks you for reading this.
Sincerely,

Adam Levy
& Elissa Barclay
