Bryan, the head of house to our Oakland based lgbtq+ community space, sustained major injuries early Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle. He is currently in the hospital recovering from multiple surgeries.
Fortunately he is stable, but the road to recovery will be long. His fractured hip ensures he will incapacitated for some time. We are banning together to cover the cost of his expenses.
Brian has always been compassionate and inviting to everyone he meets, and has worked to support everyone he can. Both in our home and our community, Brian has always stepped up when others couldn't. He's always went to bat for his friends and family. He's always shown love to those around him. We ask now that folks show a little bit of that love back, especially if Bryan (or Isafella as a whole) has made an impact in your life, and do what they can to pitch in and aid him in this difficult time.
We encourage folks to help in non-monetary ways as well. If you have the skills and materials to help make our home wheelchair accessible, lending that labor to us would be incredibly helpful and appreciated, for example.
We hope to see Bryan out of the hospital soon, and will keep folks updated.
Thank you all for your support and your love!
