Bryan Powell Fund - (for Missy)

Donation protected

Many people were influenced by Bryan. His impact was evident everywhere he went. Bryan chose to follow the calling from the Lord to be a pastor and spread his Word. This was a calling that, although spiritually fulfilling, was not monetarily fulfilling.
So, in lieu of flowers, we are creating a GoFund me account to help Missy with the burden of Bryan being gone.

Brother Bryan Cullen Powell, age 51 of Auburn, Kentucky, met his Lord Jesus face to face on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

Bryan was born on February 7, 1969 in Madisonville, Kentucky. As a young man, Bryan was a star athlete but he chose to define his life by his love for his family and his service to his God and King. He surrendered to the ministry and faithfully preached the Word of God with a deep respect and love for over twenty years, shepherding three flocks for the kingdom of God.

Bryan loved his wife and kids more than anything in this world. He was the quiet and gentle rock of his home and led his family with unconditional love. He was the most ardent admirer of his wife and the hero of all his kids. Bryan never left the house without telling his family that he loved them. In God’s sovereignty, Bryan was called Home to give an account to his King, and his family has abundant joy knowing that the Master said to him, “Well done, My good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of My rest.”

Bryan leaves behind his cherished wife Missy (Leatherman) with whom he shared 30 wonderful years of Christ-centered marriage, presenting a living example of true love to his family. His legacy lives on in his daughter Mallory (Aaron) Courter and his sons Brett (Miriam) Powell, Eric (Madelyn) Powell, and Isaac Powell. His heritage of a Christ-honoring life will be forever remembered to his four precious grandchildren: Owen, Etta, and Edmund Courter, and Ava Powell, whom he adored and who loved their Papa dearly. Bryan is also survived by his grandmother Louise Powell; his beloved parents, Rev. Wilbur and Mary Frances Powell; and his devoted sister Rhonda Powell.

Funeral services for Bro. Bryan Powell will be conducted Monday, October 12, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Parkside with Kevin Turley, his children; Brett Powell, Eric Powell, Isaac Powell, and Mallory Courter officiating and burial to follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will begin Sunday at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Parkside from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Monday from 9:00 A.M. until funeral time at 11:00 A.M.
