My best friend is not doing well. ** UPDATE: If I don't raise A TON of money in the next few days I will have to put him down. **
It's hard to know what to say about how much my pit bull Bruno means to me. I got him during a difficult time in my life and he quickly became a bright light in my dark world. I technically rescued him but I think it was really he who rescued me.
Bruno recently started showing some concerning symptoms and I took him to the ER. It was discoverd that he has hip dysplasia and arthritis in his lower spine. He seemed to be doing better after receiving medication but he has since declined. Bruno is sadly now unable to even stand up or move much at all. After this most recent decline I was advised to consult with a orthopedic specialist and neurologist. I did and after examining him they determined that his problems were actually due to something much more pernicious in his spine and not just hip dysplasia or arthritis. However, in order to know what is happening Bruno first needs an MRI which will cost $2,500. Then, upon seeing the results, they are confident his surgery will be somewhere around $10,000. They indicated a good prognosis if I'm able to get him an MRI scan and surgery.
If I cannot raise this money soon I will need to euthanize him. I will be completely devastated when I finally have to say goodbye to him. If you have any amount to donate it would be greatly appreciated. The doctors are confident that they can help him if I can even come up with a significant portion of that cost as a down payment. I am a full-time graduate student who lives on student loans and I am struggling to make this all work. Bruno and I really need your help!

If you've ever met Bruno you'll know that he's a pretty remarkable guy. He routinely shocks people with his gentle presence and warm eyes. To me he is the epitome of "don't judge a book by its cover." This sweet boy has been an embassador both for pit bulls and for young guys like me who really needed a friend and found one.
