Since January 2012, Andrew, Jessica, and their family have been working and ministering in the Middle East. Andrew worked for Oasis Hospital in community and patient relations and as the interim staff chaplain. Oasis Hospital is a Christian mission-hospital in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. The original missionary doctors were invited to establish the hospital in 1960 when the infant mortality rate was 50% and one in every three women was dying in childbirth.
While working for the hospital, Andrew pastored Christian expatriates living and working in the UAE. Faced with the expectation of a fifth child and a rising cost of living, Andrew and Jessica decided in late August that they would move back to the U.S. in November. Because Andrew and Jessica planned to stay much longer than three years, their decision to move back to the U.S. came as a surprise. The transition back to the U.S. is costly, and they would really appreciate help from friends and family as they repatriate their family from Al Ain to Austin, TX.
