Medical Bills to Save Brodie

Donation protected
Please help my daughter, Christy, to raise the money to save her dog, Brodie. Brodie was hit by a car yesterday and desperately needs medical care, which Christy cannot afford.

I am pasting here what she posted today on Facebook about the situation:

"Last night, a women going 50 mph down the usually quiet road I live on hit and almost killed my dog. I was running after him when I saw he was nearing the road and saw the whole thing. I saw the love of my life, truly the thing I love most in this world, fly up in the air after his precious little body was struck. I ran over screaming in absolute horror when it was visible he was seriously
injured. There was a lot of blood and it was obvious he had a few broken limbs. The driver saw me and quickly reversed and drove away...didn't even bother to check and see if he was dead or alive.

I know a lot of you may not know me well...and almost no one knows the struggles I have been through and continue to go through as life seems to love to challenge me. But I will tell you that genuinely, the one and only thing that has gotten me through all of those terrible moments was Brodie. We have been through lots of moves, countless heartaches, low moments and high moments....and nothing, absolutely nothing could have broken my heart more than this. He's what keeps me going. The emergency vet clinic told me when I got there that he was going into shock and I was probably going to lose him. They said he had brain injuries and was in a lot of pain. They asked me if i were to lose him would I want them to try to resuscitate him and I very sternly said yes. I stayed with him till the wee hours of the night (along with my AMAZING roommate Andrea ) and got results that they were seeing positive improvements. He was responsive
to me when I went in, and he even tried to shake my hand with his little dislocated arm.

I learned most of Brodie’s injuries are from trauma. He's peeing blood and the "brain injuries" were both from trauma, so his internal organs seem to not have any real damage. He has a dislocated front right shoulder and elbow (same arm) where he got struck, and his pelvis is fractured in multiple places. Because those injuries are in the front and back of his body, he is unable to walk at this time and still is in a lot of pain. Each surgery to repair him will be $2500 minimum and we've already spent $3000 on the visits so far.

I know to some people he may be "just a dog"...but at one point in life this dog kept me alive. He was there when I had no one else. So I refuse to give up on him. He is my child and I would do anything for him. So what I ask of my friends and family is pray for my best friend. Pray HARD. We both need it...but he needs it more so start with him.

I wanna say a very special thanks to Tobin (Brod's dad) for helping me out with the finances this far. And I wanna thank everyone who's contacted me about Brod. I know he's touched a lot of hearts...he really is the sweetest and deserves to end his days snuggling me on the couch. Not like this."
