Legal Fees for Victim Brittany Samone Smith
Donation protected
"Hello, my name is Cassandra Smith. I am the first cousin to Brittany Samone Smith, the 28-year-old expecting mom found in a suitcase in the Neuse River in Raleigh, NC, on February 8, 2021.
This GoFundMe requests assistance with legal fees to aid the family in their quest for justice for Brittany Samone Smith. Brittany Samone Smith was reported missing on February 6, 2021; her family and friends took to social media requesting help to search for her because the Wake County Sheriff's Dept told them that they were short in Manpower to perform a search. The day following the discovery of Brittany’s body, the suspects involved in her murder were captured during a routine traffic stop. They are currently held in the Wake County jail without bond. However, this may change in the coming months. Almost two months have passed since the murderers were captured and placed into custody. Unfortunately, not much has been done on behalf of the investigators at the Wake County Sherrifs's department. The local media has created a fiasco off her murder and painted a negative picture reflecting as if she deserved what happened to her. The family has been treated less than humane and has not received any information. Most of the information we learned was from press conferences because no one bothered to return our calls at the Sheriff's office. We have yet to receive an autopsy report or any information regarding her case. Our judicial system is not giving Brittany’s case the attention that it deserves. We are requesting legal fees to retain an attorney that will represent Brittany and fight for her justice.
Brittany is no longer with us to laugh to cry to joke to play to be with her family to be with her loved ones and her friends, or to be Britt. Brittany has become another in the number of the missing women that are killed daily. Whose voices have been snuffed out – their presence has been taken, and they have been silenced. And the world has been silent! Please do not contribute to the silence! Brittany has a voice, a story, and it deserves to be heard. Please help us fight for her justice, and with the proper legal representation, we have a fair chance.
Brittany was not invisible, although the murderers believed that she was such. She was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandchild, cousin, and friend. We will not stop until we get justice for Brittany Samone Smith and her unborn baby Aspen Smith. Please join us by sharing this cause. If you do not have monetary support but have resources to use, please reach out to us.
