Wael's Final Journey

Dear friends,

I'm sure you have all been deeply affected by the news that Wael is no longer with us. At this time our thoughts must be with those closest to him, and that's why I have opened this fund to assist with the considerable expense of returning Wael's body to his family.

Having travelled so far during the course of his life, it seems only right for him to now return to his family, but without our help this would surely be another unbearable burden on those already suffering so much.

However much you are able to contribute to support this effort will be greatly appreciated by all of us, and will mean more than words can express to Wael's family.

UPDATE

Dear friends,

As we continue on a journey of grief together, hopefully one that will lead us to a place of healing, I would like to share another update with you.

First, let me thank you all again for your generous donations. As you may be aware, we were forced to adapt our plans due to various circumstances, and in the end the money was used to give Wael his burial in France (after informing everyone who donated), a place in which he had shared many years of happiness.

For those who were unable to attend the ceremony, or would like to give a more personal farewell, feel free to visit Wael's grave at Le parc cimetière d'Artigues-près-Bordeaux and pay your respects in person, in whatever way seems most fitting to you.
