Bringing Global Culture to Washington: Starting with Bolivia
Tax deductible
Since it's not always easy to take children to each country, the País Invitado Project brings the richness of Latin American cultures directly to them. With each edition, we invite artisans and cultural ambassadors to share their traditions, language, and arts. Starting with Bolivia, this ongoing initiative will continue to feature new countries, offering students and families an immersive cultural experience right here in Washington, D.C.
We invite you to be a part of a unique and exciting cultural experience, País Invitado: Bolivia, brought to you by Isabella & Ferdinand® Academia de Español™.
Our mission is to provide students and families in Washington, D.C. with an immersive Spanish learning experience by exploring the rich cultural heritage of Latin America and Spain. With your support, we aim to bring Casa Etnica, a collective of Bolivian and Peruvian artisans led by Martha Ojeda Apanqui, to share their traditional textile weaving techniques with our community.
What is the País Invitado Project? The País Invitado Project is an ongoing cultural exchange initiative where we invite artisans from different Latin American countries to share their traditions, stories, and arts. We are starting this exciting project with Bolivia! These artisans will not only teach our students Spanish but also allow them to experience their culture through hands-on activities like weaving traditional Bolivian textiles known as aguayos.
Why We Need Your Help To make this experience a reality, we need your support to cover the travel expenses of the artisans from Bolivia to Washington, D.C. Our goal is to raise funds to bring these talented women to our community, where they will conduct workshops, cultural presentations, and offer handmade artisan products for sale.
Your donation will help us cover:
- Travel and accommodation costs for the artisans.
- Materials and supplies for interactive workshops.
- Events at local schools, and Isabella & Ferdinand®’s Saturday School.
- A cultural celebration open to the entire community through our partner, Conéctate Foundation.
How You Can Help Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference. Your donation will:
- Support indigenous artisans.
- Promote cultural exchange and education.
- Help preserve ancient weaving traditions.
- Provide children and families with a unique, immersive Spanish learning experience.
Join Us in Bringing Culture to Washington, D.C.! We are deeply grateful for your support and generosity. Together, we can make this cultural exchange a reality and inspire children and families to embrace language and heritage in new, exciting ways.
Donate today and help us bring the artisans of Casa Étnica to Washington, D.C.!
Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!
Sincerely,
The Isabella & Ferdinand® Academia de Español™ Team
