Help Us Bring Birdie Home

Hey team — Kiwi here from Skylinks.

If you've been out to the course in the last couple of years, you've probably met Birdie. She's our four-legged welcome committee at the Pro Shop, Chief Gopher Hunter and one of the heartbeats of this place.

She's not just our dog. Birdie is Skylinks family mascot — and right now, she needs us.

What happened:

Two weeks ago, Birdie was rushed to Hospital with what's now been confirmed as a severe case of tetanus — an extremely rare diagnosis in dogs. Most vets see only a handful of cases in their entire career. Birdie was the first case her clinic had seen in over a year.

She got right to the edge of it, team. We almost lost her.

She's now spent the last two weeks in the ICU and emergency department, on IV meds through a feeding tube, sedated, and on critical monitoring. The vets have done an incredible job holding her through this — but tetanus has no shortcut. The toxins have to release from her muscles over time. It's rest, meds, and patience.

Why we're asking:

The vet bills over the last two weeks have now gone the charts — ICU stays at VCA, emergency intake, and now 24-hour specialist care at one of the best veterinary hospitals in the country at UC Davis. We've been holding the line for her without a second thought, but the costs have climbed faster than any of us expected. We're up to just under $30,000 so far.

100% of every dollar raised goes directly toward Birdie's medical bills. And anything left over will go directly to the amazing team at UC Davis to support other amazing animals stay healthy.
