Andie is a blind cat, currently in a shelter in Santa Rosa, California.
I am a British citizen living in Oman. And I have been approved to adopt Andie – she is almost the double of my current blind cat, Moet, who you will find on her social media channels under @moetblindcat (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook).
We are desperate to bring Andie ‘home’ but need YOUR HELP!
I am lucky enough to already have somebody to collect Andie - the owner of our vet clinic's husband, who regularly transports pets internationally for relocation purposes. However, he has to fly 20+ hours from Muscat, Oman to San Francisco, USA. We not only need to raise flight costs, but also paperwork/import permit, accommodation for a couple of nights inbound and outbound to break his journey and a few other logistics. The goal is high, but we are hopeful (and grateful, in advance).
The aim is to fly to SF, collect Andie and then fly back, probably on KLM in economy.
However, there is another option for part of the journey:
1. The NY - Muscat sector with Etihad in Economy - where she can have a separate seat.
2. The NY - Muscat sector with Etihad in Business - where she has to be bought an extra seat.
With with such a long flight time, I feel it's going to be important for her to be able to at least partly come out of her carrier to stretch her legs, use a litter box and be comfortable. Depending on how much we raise will depend on what we can do, but option 1. is factored into our budget.
We're working to a timeline of either just before Christmas, if we can raise the funds by then, or mid-January if not.

Will you help us bring Andie to her forever home, where I will give this precious fur-baby a wonderful life? One where she will want for nothing and be loved and cared for unconditionally (along with my 3 other rescue cats).
Donations of any amount mean the world to us all - especially Andie. I will move mountains to make this happen.
And if you are happy to share this, it would also make a real difference. We'd also love it if you're willing to reach out to US news agencies, large social media accounts and other people who might be able to help with funds, travel, transport and logistics. Any help is beyond words.. if we smash our goal (unlikely I know), I will use the extra for Andie's food, vet care and also as a donation to the volunteer group that I'm a part of (Omani Paws) that does rescue, TNR and rehoming of strays.
Andie looked into my soul, even without eyes, the minute I saw her and I just know we have to be her family.
Thank you,
Emily (& Moet)

PS) The account and fundraiser gives the location as 'Nottingham' - which is my home town in the UK and the account into which funds will go, just to reassure you. We are actually based in Muscat, Oman.
