In September Buddy, Jenny and Mike came down with COVID and all had to be hospitalized in Bedford, TX. Mike and Jenny are recovering and still on oxygen to function day to day. On Sept 19th Buddy was airlifted from Bedford, TX to Oklahoma City, OK to be placed on ECMO, at a highly specialized unit at Integris Baptist Medical Center. It has been a huge roller coaster of emotions as we got Jenny well enough to be able to stay in Oklahoma City with my parents to be close to him and be there to make informed medical decisions.
For those that don't know Buddy came to work with our plumbing company a few years ago when he left the police force. He is the personality of our company, as Mike is more of the curmudgeon (a lovable curmudgeon, but still grumpy).
Since this all started we have not only missed the full presence of Buddy, but we have missed milestone moments as well.
David and Becca had their wedding the night that Buddy went into the hospital, we all missed it, especially Jenny and Buddy.
Buddy and Jenny were married last year, but were having their church wedding on Sept 13th, but Buddy was in the hospital so that didn't happen.
Mom, Dad, & Emilia's birthdays came and went.
World Series has happened, and I can't tell you how many fish have been able to swim in peace with Buddy laid up.
We are seeing so many steps of progress, that we are thankful for. The Dr's use the term the Dance, when we see progress there has been many times we see have seen a step back. It is in those moments we lean on all of you who are lifting us up with support.
We are so thankful for you to come on this journey with us. To provide mental, emotional, physical, financial, and above all else prayer support.
