UPDATE 11/9/2024
When Brian was diagnosed 16 months ago, we were forced to close his law practice while I had lost my job. Bills and expenses were quickly piling up. My two dear friends started this GoFundMe account back then to help ease our load. We were brought to tears by the outpouring of support you all contributed. Because of you, we were able to save our home and catch up on our bills. We will never be able to express our gratitude.
A few months later, Brian was able to return to practicing law taking a significant less load of cases. I too returned to working. As time went on, Brian slowed down physically. And then our worst fear…the cancer had spread to his brain. They successfully radiated those only to find out a month ago that he now had 11 brain tumors, and had reached his lymph nodes, liver and the bone cancer is covering his entire bone structure. The physical pain is debilitating and unfathomable. The entire Oncology, Palliative Care and Neuropathic Pain teams are now scrambling to find a way to keep him comfortable as he has approached the end of his fight. This has led us to close his practice for good as we work to keep him comfortable at home until a hospice home is necessary.
My Parents are taking care of him so that I can remain working until I need to be at his side around the clock. Eventually, I will be adding a 2nd and possibly 3rd job when the time comes to do this on my own.
Everyone has asked what they can do, how can they help. It is with deep sadness that I swallow my pride and ask for help as we near the end of Brian’s fight so that we can survive financially. Brian is struggling with fears of leaving me unable to keep us afloat while I try to hide how scared I am as well.
I pray one day I too will be able to help any of you in your darkest days. We will never be able to express the depth of our gratitude and the outpouring of love and compassion you have all shown us through this unimaginable journey. We love you all. And just prayers for peace and comfort are always welcome too.
Hello friends, so many of you have been following Brian's recent journey with lung cancer.
We are overwhelmed with the emotional support from friends and family and the offers of assistance.
It is going to be a long road with several rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation and an uncertain future.
In the midst of receiving this devastating news, Amy lost her job on the same day that Brian had to close his business due to this health crisis.
With Amy as Brian's 24-hour caretaker, she will be unable to seek other employment for the foreseeable future.
With insurmountable bills accruing daily, here is an opportunity to help them. Any donation is deeply appreciated as it will help them through this difficult time.
