This past July, my dad put me in a soccer ID camp on the lower mainland hosted by Sheffield Wednesday, a professional football club from England. On the first day of camp I caught the eye of the head trainer while doing some ball tricks. The trainer came off the bench and we started juggling the ball back and forth until the training session started. For the rest of the week the trainer would use me as the demonstrator for all the drills that we would do and I would do my best to show proper technique and skill.
The ID camp would select one player to come back to England and train at their academy. Well, 6 weeks later my dad received an email from the organizer of the camp inviting me to take part in their European Training Experience! Along with the other invitees from the camps that they put on across North America this past Summer, we would train at the Shefield Wednesday Academy as well as Glasgow Ranger's pro team's Academy starting April 7, 2017. They said that I am a player that could succeed within their system!
I train year round and sometimes go 6 days a week depending on the season. All of my soccer training costs money and my dad works hard to pay for it all. This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me, and will cost a lot more money for my dad and I to travel to England, on top of what he already pays. This is why I wanted to set up a social media fundraiser hoping to raise enough money to fulfill my dream and contribute to this unexpected cost of about $7,000.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and thank you for contributing what you can.
