Hi, my name is Brett Ridgeway, and I have been teaching music for more than 40 years through private lessons, Skype, String Band Clubs, and workshops at various festivals. I am beginning a new teaching endeavor by offering FREE video lessons on hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, clawhammer banjo, and acoustic guitar, as well as providing unique and innovative lessons, tips, and helpful information on learning music in general. I am providing these videos completely free to everyone and am posting them weekly to YouTube.
Of course, nothing is ever really free...someone is paying to provide and develop this content and video program (e.g., me :) ). To provide this free service for everyone, I am working 8-10 hours daily and incurring numerous costs to purchase necessary video and recording equipment, as well as software and computer programs. As yet, I am not making a penny on this venture, but I am paying so that everyone can partake in this opportunity to learn for free.
My goal is to partner with YouTube, but I first need to increase the number of subscribers to my YouTube channel to at least 1,000 people, as well have 4,000 "watch hours" in the previous 12 months. I am basing my eligibility on a six-month plan. Once I partner with YouTube, my channel will have the capability to support itself, but to accomplish this, it will take approximately six months to meet this goal.
Until that time, I will continue to work 8-10 hours a day, invest in new software, etc., but to help me offset my costs, I established a Go Fund Me account to pay for and cover these expenses until this program can begin paying for itself.
I have heard from so many people how thankful and appreciative they are for everything I've shared so far, and how much they are enjoying this new program I'm developing. This ultimately led to the suggestion that, if I set up a Go Fund Me account, 'backers' can contribute financially to help keep the project moving forward...which is why I'm here!
Any financial backing/help/donation will go a long way to help make this program successful! If you do not or cannot pay a penny toward this project, the lessons are still free of charge, but I truly appreciate any financial support and help a great deal! Thank you so much! Oh, and please subscribe to my YouTube channel!
