Hello my name is Matthew Burns, the husband of one of the strongest and most loving individuals I have ever known. This wife of mine Bren, is also referred to and affectionally called Wonder Woman by our young daughter.

The past 2 years my wife has been enduring quite a medical journey that has taken an emotional toll on us as a family. She was diagnosed with cancer in late January 2020. She then had an emergency lower lung removal in April of 2020, as a result of cancer. Now we are dealing with extended concerning medical issues, mostly regarding her heart. Issues that need to be properly addressed and soon. She has already had a heart attack in November of this past year (2021) & other heart related issues since.

We travel to the next state over from ours, to the Mayo Clinic, which is where my wife had her surgery, and is also where she is continuing on with her medical care, & where she hopes to have her pending surgeries. We are also dealing with the issue of our insurance declining a lot of her doctor recommended tests and medical visits. Which is not only very baffling, but it's also stressful, & discouraging. Which makes it even tougher to try and stay on top of all of her medical needs.

I have humbly come to this GoFundMe site in hopes to ease some of our financial burden and weight this medical fight has caused. We have insurance, but even our out of pocket expenses has depleted all of our savings (including my entire retirement fund). My job that I've had for the past 15 years, being in the entertainment field (concerts/corporate events) had completely disappeared last year, to only make a slight comeback until Omicron wiped it out again. Only making our medical debt & pending doctor/hospital payments near impossible to afford.

My wife has continued to be strong and brave throughout this journey, however I know inside she is truly scared and worried about her fragile health. She's also starting to express concern on how we are going to keep up financially with everything. She has enough as is on her plate without also having to worry about this stuff. My wife is my families rock, my muse, and my best friend. The bond that she has with my daughter is truly deep and unbreakable. My daughter needs her mother strong, and in the correct mindset to continue to push past this battle without having the stress and constant worry of the financial hardship of the medical bills. I want her to have a positive mindset without worries in order to continue her journey towards getting better. Our daughter is only 9, we both need her healthy and well.
