On December 3rd Brenda was the victim of a violent domestic assault. She has a broken rib, a broken collar bone, is suffering from internal bleeding, and is permanently blind.

Brenda is in a recovery facility for the next year, where she will begin healing from the severe mental, emotional, and physical trauma. She will also begin the process of learning how to live life without sight.

For the past four years, Brenda has been selling Real Change in front of Benaroya Hall on Third Avenue. She said she was worried that her customers would wonder why she wasn't there and whether or not she was okay. While she will miss the income of the busy season, Brenda will also miss the chance to interact with her customers during these holidays.  

Brenda has always brought so much joy to her community. Customers and fellow vendors: let’s support her so she can focus on recovery.

She was staying in a hotel when the incident occurred, and has no housing to return to. Brenda needs help building her new life. This includes daily essentials, clothing, furniture, food, medical expenses etc.
