My name is Erin Scaggs, on behalf of The Brattleboro Love Project in conjunction with Carry Me Home, I'm happy to bring you our proposal for a banner to hang directly over Main St in downtown Brattleboro. We hope that you will join us in this endeavor. We are so lucky to live in a place where people can be their authentic selves without fear of judgement or condemnation. Our town is a beautiful place, both in it's landscape and the hearts of our community members- let's fly this banner proudly in the heart of downtown to plant our flag firmly on the side of love and acceptance!
What: We are planning to hang a banner similar to the one pictured over Main St. in Brattleboro. The lettering may vary somewhat but the message would be the same.
Why: To create a positive impact downtown and beyond. For people passing through our small town to see that we Vermonters believe in the power of love!
When: The banner will hang for 1-2 weeks downtown. From there it will be made available for other groups/establishments that would like to display it. We have already submitted our order for the banner and have narrowed the weeks to either March or April.
Where: This banner’s journey will begin at the corner of High St and Main St. But we are affectionately referring to it as “The Traveling Banner of Love”. Who knows how far it might go?!? We are currently offering it to folks in the Brattleboro area specifically but I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if it traveled even farther. I believe many towns may be interested in letting the banner fly!
Who: We are a group of five Brattleboro area individuals. We are collectively moms, students, business owners, men and women who want to plant an optimistic and hopeful seed in the town we love.
Carry Me Home is an organization created and run by locals. They send supplies to refugees in Greece, Croatia and Syria amoungst others. It’s creator, Vedrana Greatorex, hails from Croatia originally. They are currently headed up by Inga Paluch and Carly Reitsa. They have collected, organized and sent hundreds of pounds of clothing, cold weather supplies, baby carriers. A truly inspiring organization. I'm proud to call these women my friends. You: We need your help to make this project a reality. Here are our projected expenses:
Banner: 320.00
Hanging supplies: 50.00
Town hanging fee: 300.00
Misc: 330.00- This could be mailing the banner to it's next sites, unexpected costs and ALL money left over would be given to Carry Me Home, in thanks for sponsoring us.

*Because I referenced aiding Syrian refugees, in order to be in compliance with Gofundme's policy I am required to provide additional info:

2. I am a member of The Brattleboro Love Project and I am good friends with the woman who created Carry Me Home and also with the women currently running it. My method of contact with them is FB message, text, phone.
3. As I stated before, 320$ will be used to create the banner, 600$ will be used to hang the banner for app 4 weeks in downtown Brattleboro, app 100$ for misc expenses (cord for hanging the banner, postage for mailing to subsequent towns), All remaining money raised will go to Carry Me Home.
4.When the campaign is finished I will write a check to the company making the banner. I will write a check to the Brattleboro Fire Dept/Town of Brattleboro with whom we apply to/coordinate the hanging of the banner. I will go to the hardware store and buy cord etc and write a check for that as well. Then I will write a personal check in the leftover amount made out to Carry Me Home.
