Hello, my name is Brandy, and I’m a 40-year-old single, disabled mother doing my best to care for my 14-year-old daughter and support my 65-year-old disabled mother, who is a retired nurse.
Right now, our family is facing a very difficult situation. Due to the ongoing government shutdown, our SNAP benefits were cut off, leaving us struggling to afford even the most basic groceries. My mother, who lives in a low-income apartment complex, is about to have all of her utilities cut off, and her rent is behind. My daughter and I are also behind on our rent and need help keeping our home secure.
My mother worked hard her entire life caring for others as a nurse, but now she’s struggling just to keep the lights on. I’m doing everything I can to provide for my daughter and help my mother, but with my disability and limited income, I simply can’t make ends meet right now.
Altogether, we need to raise $2,000 to cover groceries, utilities, and rent — the essentials we need to get through this hard time. Every dollar will go directly toward keeping a roof over our heads, food on the table, and the lights and heat on for my mom.
If you can donate or even share this campaign, it would mean the world to us. Your kindness and compassion can help us through a moment that feels impossible.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give. ❤️
— Brandy
