Greetings, Neighbors:
We wanted to take a moment to share some news with you about a member of our community here at The Madison.
Over the past several months, we've gotten to know Keith Schramm, our trusted doorman. He shared with us the story of his son Brandon’s 6-year battle with cancer. At the age of 13, Brandon was diagnosed with leukemia, and now at 19, he’s facing lymphoma—his fourth battle with cancer total. Brandon had a bone marrow transplant in 2013, which was thought to be successful, but they discovered in March that the cancer is back.
Brandon was recently accepted into a new clinical trial (Car T Cell) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. There, he will undergo 5-7 weeks of intensive treatment, followed by several weeks of in-patient and then out-patient recovery. Brandon will be required to stay in Philadelphia during the entire duration of the program and recovery.
Needless to say, Keith and his family have been on a difficult journey with a long road still ahead. We created this campaign to help relieve some of the financial stress of travel for them in the coming months.
Life is certainly filled with many unforeseen challenges, and we hope to make this next one a little easier.
Your neighbors,
Sam & Jason
