Brad has always been a generous and giving person. His fun, warm, and loving energy makes him an instant friend to everyone he meets. Brad is fiercely loyal, and always there for the people he cares about.
There have been many hardships and hurdles that he has overcome in his life, but nothing quite like he's faced with now. Brad is an incredibly strong, and determined person, but this is an overwhelming setback. The doctors have given him an expectation of 18 months, before he will start to see significant returns towards normal.
Without medical insurance, Brad was not given the opportunity to go to inpatient rehabilitation. On top of life-changing physical injuries, and unimaginable medical debt, he will now have to be responsible for managing his recovery with only outpatient rehab. No one knows how long it will be before he can walk independently, and he is still a long way from having functional use of his dominant right arm.
The goal of this fundraiser will be to cover Brad's mortgage, bills and living expenses, while he is unable to work. We want him to be able to focus his energy and drive on his recovery, without being overwhelmed with the stress of possible financial destitution.

On September 23, at 5:30 in the morning Brad had collapsed and had been unconscious for an unknown amount of time. He had extreme swelling, muscle hardening and loss of mobility. He was rushed to the ER, in excruciating pain. His limbs were swelling, loosing feeling, and mobility. There was risk of loss of blood flow, which could lead to limb death and amputation. He was sent to emergency surgery, and prepared for emergency dialysis, were he was sedated and intubated. The surgeons preformed fasciotomies on his right forearm and right thigh. From there he was sent to the ICU and closely monitored. His kidneys recovered enough to avoid dialysis, but was he sent back to the operating room on the 24th to get another fasciotomy on his left arm, and extend the incision on his leg up, to his hip. He spent the next week in and out of the OR, for wound maintenance, which included close monitoring for tissue death, and eventual removal of some muscle tissue from his right leg.
All of this he had to learn and process, a week later, when he was finally brought out of sedation. He has been bedridden for two weeks now and continues to be in constant, intense pain. It will be a long and difficult road to recovery, but he is strong and motivated.
