Hi, I’m Kamisi — creator of Boys Like Us, an independent Nigerian YouTube LGBT web series about friendship, family, love, and identifying as a queer person in Nigeria.

What Boys Like Us Is
Boys Like Us follows the lives of a group of young gay men navigating friendship, heartbreak, self-acceptance, and the search for belonging. This is a story about the moments that shape us — the first loves, the toughest losses, and the courage it takes to be truly yourself.
It’s funny, real, emotional, and unapologetically queer. And we’re building it with the heart and authenticity that mainstream media rarely shows.
Why This Matters
Gay stories are everywhere — but so many of them are filtered through someone else’s lens. Boys Like Us puts queerness at the center, created for queer audiences and allies who crave representation that doesn’t feel watered down or stereotyped.
This series is about more than entertainment — it’s about visibility, validation, and community. It matters to the people who see themselves in these characters and finally feel seen.
What Your Support Will Do
We’re raising money to fund the next season of Boys Like Us. Funds will go directly toward:
Production costs: cameras, lighting, sound, locations
Cast & crew compensation: everyone deserves to be paid fairly
Costumes, props & set design
Post-production: editing, music licensing, color grading
Promotion & distribution: getting this series to as many viewers as possible
Every contribution — big or small — brings us closer to completing the next episodes with the quality and heart the story deserves.
