Boyd County Rural Water District #2 Disaster Fund

Doação protegida
Due to recent flooding, the main water source for the Boyd Country Rural Water District #2 was lost when the Spencer Dam collapsed on Thursday morning, March 14th.  A large portion of Boyd County is without water and will be for some time; approximately 4-8 weeks.  The Rural Water District has been working around the clock to come up with a plan to restore the water line and at the same time make temporary plans for humans and livestock.  As of now, costs are estimated to be $2,000,000+. FEMA will cover some of this cost but not all.  We are asking for donations to offset this expense as we are a non-profit, government sub-division and currently owe $1,000,000 in loans from the last expansion project.  Our goal is $400,000 and this assistance will be used for temporary water relief, boring of a new water line, and repairs/expenses from the flood devastation.

All funds raised are being deposited into an account maintained by the Boyd County Rural Water District #2 Disaster Fund at Farmer’s State Bank in Spencer.  Donations can also be dropped off at Farmer's State Bank in Spencer or checks made payable to Boyd County Rural Water District #2 Disaster Fund may be mailed to Farmer's State Bank, PO Box 217,  Spencer, NE  68777 or to Melanie Black, 49225 903rd Road, Spencer, NE  68777.  Donations are considered tax deductible under section 170 (c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Any donation is greatly appreciated!  We ask that you help spread the word!
