Masjid Al-Hakeem was established in 2016 to serve the growing Muslim community in Bowmanville. Starting with a small rented space, we began offering regular prayers and basic Islamic education.
We are now at a critical juncture: our lease is ending this year and will not be renewed.
But by Allah’s grace, a new opportunity has opened and Alhamdulillah, after years of waiting, our dream of having a dedicated place of worship for our community is becoming a reality! We've successfully purchased the property.
Masjid Alhakeem has been serving the community of Bowmanville, Courtice and Newcastle since 2016:
- Operating from a rented facility, over 500 families
- Hosting 5 daily prayers, Taraweeh during Ramadan, and Eid Salah
- Running a full-time Islamic school with a growing number of students
- Offering summer school programs for children and youth
- Providing evening Maktab classes with dozens of children attending
- Active in Dawah efforts — nearly 30 people have taken Shahadah here
- Organizing regular community events such as Eid parties, BBQs, potlucks, and kids' activities
- Planning to showcase our programs in a photo and video gallery on our website
Our new masjid will serve as a place of worship and a comprehensive Islamic center with expanded facilities for education, community gatherings, and social services.
The new building will feature:
- Larger prayer halls for men and women
- Multiple classrooms for Islamic education
- Community hall for events
- Library and resource center
- Enhanced facilities for wudu
- Huge parking
- A home for our community for generations to come
As an Islamic organization, we cannot take interest-based loans. We turn to you, our brothers and sisters, to help us secure this house of Allah.
