Please help Adventure Sports Ministry, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, raise funds to take 35 volunteers to Belize, Central America in June to bring hope, healing, help, and education to hundreds of needy children and their families!
Children are panhandling on the streets and beaches instead of attending school because of school overcrowding. Families are broken and in need of help because of a lack of training and poor parenting skills. Parents are abusing their children. Many children are fatherless because the dads have not been taught how to be real fathers. Drug and alcohol abuse and addiction are rampant. With your financial help, our team can really make a difference these lives!

We need your help to provide for teaching supplies, school supplies, vacation Bible school supplies, sports equipment, school building repairs, travel costs for our team, etc. A generous real estate developer, ECI Development, has already donated lodging for our entire team at his two properties, the Exotic Caye Beach Resort, and Grand Baymen. Local restaurants are providing inexpensive group meals for our team. But we have many other expenses for which we need your help!
While in Belize, we will be leading positive message assemblies during the day in schools, putting on after school programs, having a big citywide rally on the weekend, and partnering with local churches to address many of these issues. We will be providing support to help local schools such as the Holy Cross Anglican School with much needed school supplies, facility repairs, furniture, tuition for students, and many other needs for the children.
Children who are lucky enough to be accepted into the overcrowded schools often walk for miles to attend school with hopes to receive a good education. Our team of 35 will host a Vacation Bible School and work on many projects to improve and maintain the buildings. This one school’s current roster is over 400, and yet hundreds are turned away every year due to lack of space. These children are wandering the streets because there are not enough resources to educate all of them.
Joining us in our efforts in Belize are several experts with many years of experience in the type of outreach and ministry we will be providing.
For example, Tre9 and Chris Gamez have joined our team to help us impact these communities and schools. They will help us reach out to the impoverished neighborhood of San Mateo where the family problems mentioned above exist in many if not most of the homes. Experts in the area have indicated that roughly 90% of the children in the area need weekly counseling to overcome the problems and challenges they face (such as abuse, neglect and addiction). Your help will aid in these children’s road to recovery.
Tre9 has a passion and talent for inspiring fathers to stop being neglectful and abusive, to stop their destructive and addictive behaviors, and to go home to their families so their children can lead better lives.
Chris Gamez has traveled to over 50 countries reaching many people with positive messages of hope and healing in Jesus Christ through dance and rap. Chris will utilize his skills in our school assemblies and teach dance and rap on the streets of Belize. Dance and rap really draw a crowd in these kinds of areas, which enables us to reach more people with our positive messages.

Matt Bullen is an expert at motivating communities like these towards positive values and change. He has many years of experience teaching and motivating communities in impoverished areas in Columbia, South America and various countries in Africa.
We have people on our team who are highly experience in inner city ministry, homeless ministry and prison ministry here in Houston. So our team is not just going to Belize to have an “overseas experience.” We have a highly talented and trained team who will be able to have a strong impact in many different areas. We are also taking several high school youth with us who will be able to participate in these exciting outreach and ministry activities. They will be mentored and trained by the more experienced members of our team. This will be a life-changing time for them as they learn leadership and outreach/ministry skills, and they spend time with underprivileged and impoverished people in a foreign culture, away from their American distractions of video games, movies, and restaurants.
So won’t you please consider helping us bring help, hope, and healing to the beautiful people of Belize this coming June. We can’t do it without your help. Every dollar you donate will make a difference in the life of someone or many someones in this special country. We have set a total on this GoFundMe campaign, but if you are interested in donating a larger amount, please be sure that we can put it to good use. With extra / large gifts, instead of just repairing school buildings, we could add on much-needed new space. Instead of just taking a few sports items, we could outfit an entire school with everything they need for a sport such as baseball, basketball, or track.
