The Born to Act Players

The Born to Act Players was founded twenty years ago by Mary Rings, the mother of a then-14-year-old boy with Down's Syndrome, who shared a passion for acting, theater, and imaginative performance with a small group of his best friends.
An acting and improv class dedicated to providing creative outlets for children and adults with Down's Syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and other special needs was born.
From the day the class was founded with just eight students in the back room of a vitamin shop, the students all shared the same goal of working successfully in film and/or television; some were achieving it already, and looked to Mary (a television and stage actress with several major credits to her name) for guidance and training.
Since starting this remarkable acting class, Mary has expanded the Born to Act Players into two classes, one for adults and one for young children, with over 50 members and assistants. Her greatest dream for the class is to offer her students a space to call their own.
This GoFundMe is dedicated to providing financial support to the 20th Anniversary Fundraising Project of the Born To Act Players. Your funds will not only directly support the special 20th Anniversary Dinner that BTAP is hosting this November, they will support this amazing group.
