En cada bordado, Juanita e Ingrid comparten la historia de su comunidad.
Sus bordados son mucho más que arte: son identidad, resiliencia y cultura viva.
Hoy han sido invitadas a representar a su comunidad en un festival internacional de folclore en Suiza.
Pero necesitan tu ayuda para poder llegar.
Conoce a las artesanas
La Señora Juanita y su hija Ingrid son bordadoras mayas K’iché de Guatemala y forman parte del proyecto Indigenias.
A través de este proyecto, organizamos viajes con propósito donde ellas mismas guían a los grupos, comparten su cultura y generan ingresos que les permiten sostener a sus familias de manera independiente.
Ambas no solo son artesanas, sino también guías locales y facilitadoras de talleres dentro del proyecto. Les apasiona compartir sus conocimientos, sus tradiciones y su forma de ver el mundo.
Uno de estos viajes es la Ruta del Huipil, una experiencia en el lago Atitlán donde las artesanas abren las puertas de sus hogares para compartir técnicas de bordado, tejido y tintes naturales, además de acercar a los visitantes a las tradiciones y oficios ancestrales de sus comunidades.

Through every textile, Juanita and Ingrid share the story of their community.
Their work is much more than art—it is identity, resilience, and living culture.
They have been invited to represent their community at an international folklore festival in Switzerland.
But they need your help to get there.
Meet the artisans
Juanita and her daughter Ingrid are Mayan K’iché embroiderers from Guatemala and part of the Indigenias project.
Through this initiative, we organize meaningful travel experiences where they themselves guide visitors, share their culture, and generate income that allows them to support their families independently.
They are not only artisans, but also local guides and workshop facilitators. They are passionate about sharing their knowledge, traditions, and worldview.
One of these experiences is the “Ruta del Huipil”, a journey to Lake Atitlán where artisans open their homes to share embroidery, weaving, and natural dye techniques, while offering a deep connection to ancestral traditions.
