Bootsies journey to health and charity work
Donation protected
Hi my name is Bootsie boy . I am a 15 month old Pomeranian , I was born with no patella’s ( kneecaps ) this means my back legs don’t work quite right . Don’t get me wrong , I still try my best to keep up with the rest of my friends but it is hard work . One of my back legs is also growing at a quicker rate than my other leg, this is causing it to bend in on itself.
Me and my mammy Snudge have recently been rehomed by James and Natalie from Newcastle , they came to Manchester to get us !
They took me to their local vet , I was given an X-ray and this is when the extent of my disability was discovered.
James and mammy decided to seek the help a Specialist Referral Practice, to see if he could do anything for me to help maybe fix my legs and give me a better quality of life .
I had an appointment with Practice on 11th October 2023 for a Cat scan but after seeing the specialist and him giving Bootsie a good going over the only thing he said he could do at this time was to lock his legs straight but we both agreed he was doing ok at the moment and this would be too severe, the artificial kneecaps he provides for other dogs and cats he can’t make small enough for Bootsie he’s just too small, but hopefully this may change in the future.
He said he is will do ok the way he is just now but if things change to get back in touch he was a lovely man and loved Bootsie sitting on the floor taking pics and videos of the little guys walking it was great to see.
What we are going to do now is use the money towards his health care and help charities that have helped us or who our supporters feel worthy of our support I hope this is ok with everyone let us know on fb what you think thank you.
We would be really grateful if you could spare even £1 towards the costs of my healthcare and my support of dog charities , if not then a share would be really cool also .
