I, Tony, am hoping to raise money for the funeral costs of my dad, and relief for the remaining family.

My dad has ended his 3.5-year battle with bile-duct cancer. We knew it was severe, but he had so much hope. Even as his body started to fail, he had fought so hard. With each new treatment, his resolve strengthened to live to see his grandkids thrive and still support his wife and family. In November 22nd, he did not have to fight anymore. He’s no longer in pain.

I, Tony, will miss my father heavily. We all will. The man who raised me and my sister the best he could without a father figure of his own. The man who provided for his family through immigration, to California, to Massachusetts, and finally to Kansas. The man who loved the small moments with us. The man who always helped and supported his family and neighbors unconditionally, without fanfare, and without need for thanks. We will all miss this man.

To his last days with his little remaining strength, he said “thank you.” To me who was able to immediately fly in, to the amazing and caring hospital staff and social workers who took care of us, and to all who got to visit him.

And it’s in his heart of gratitude, my mom, sister, and I want to thank all who made my father a friend and brother, who cared for him in his battle, and who are now surrounding us with comfort and love. Thank you sincerely dearest communities and family.

We have already received so much help and blessings with the families and the Lao communities here. We are hoping to use this platform for anyone near and far to cover his funeral cost that is needed by Friday, November 28th, and relief and help for my family as we transition to our new normal.

We are prioritizing funeral costs, which is $8,000. We will hold funeral ceremonies and cremation on December 1st in Olathe, KS.

Next, we hope for financial relief for family, which is $9,000. This includes few months rent and utilities for my mom and sister, and travel relief for families.

And finally if there be anything left, my mom could use a car. Mom and sister had been sharing only one car for a long while and it’d be so much support for family for the new normal if we could find her one. I estimate $10,000 for something that’d run long for her.

We know this may be a lot for a typical request, but we’ll be thankful for anything we could achieve through this; I just know we gotta ask if we need help. Thankful already for your care for us! Goal will be adjusted cuz there’s a lot of local donations going on too.
