Help Bobby Recover from Runyon Canyon Fire
Donation protected
Hi there,
I'm not one for asking for help. I generally prefer to help others and figure stuff out on my own, but this one hit me hard. This past Wednesday a fire erupted so intense and so fast that, had the response time been a few minutes shorter or had the wind blown in the other direction, I would have lost everything. I saw flames bursting forth from the mountain while at the gym and had to race home to save my cats and get some supplies. In less that 20 minutes the fire tore through the insanely beautiful hiking trails at Runyon Canyon that I lovingly refer to as my "backyard." If you see on the cover photo where it says "Vista St" That's one block from me. I had to E-scooter from my Apt to where I left my car due to too much traffic with animals and supplies around my neck and breathing in ash.
I am happy to say that our fire story is much more fortunate than others. However, things are still not okay. I am out of work most of this week and the following week will be uncertain. I work at an outdoor restaurant and this week it has either been closed or has had a handful of customers. I'm asking for funds to help me get through this month for wages lost, emergency supplies purchased, and to secure some extra home safety items like new animal carriers and air purifiers.
Also, during this time off from work this weekend I will be offering my help where it is needed. I'll either help locally nearby, offer help to an animal shelter. Or go further towards the other major fires to see where I can lend a hand.
I will donate 50 percent of anything raised above the goal to local charities / organizations assisting folks during these emergencies. To be honest, I have seen the best of the heart of Angelenos during this time. And I want to be a part of that. Thank you to everyone who reached out, offered help, or was just there for me in their own way.
Any little bit helps and be well <3
Cost Breakdown:
1600 is around what I pay in rent. So it will mainly go towards that
180 for 2 air purifiers and filters
60 for new pet carrier
100 emergency supplies purchased
