Bob Lever (left) is a singer, a songwriter, a guitarist and true lover of music. His extensive catalog of personally penned songs have always struck a note of love and sincerity with love of country. People love his songs.
Bob is a veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
Bob and I have a shared passion for music. A few years back, we formed our music duo "Brooker Creek". It was always so rewarding to make music with Bob. The enthusiasm was always contagious.
Last year, we both learned we had Cancer. Prostate for him, Thyroid for me. We went through our individual surgeries and therapies knowing we always had each others back and attention. It helped us to understand and be able to talk about what we were experiencing.
About three months ago, we both went through our last body scan to be evaluated as "Cancer Free" after treatments. We each came out great and were overjoyed to start back at making some music again.
On Christmas Eve, Bob experienced difficulty in breathing and acute congestion and was rushed to the VA Hospital at Bay Pines, FL.
Bob has been on assisted breathing through a ventilator since December 24, 2014. He remains in the ICU. His cancer has reached Stage IV where it aggressively spread to the liver and lungs. It has been complicated by pneumonia.
Bob was the breadwinner for his family and needs our help while he fights for his life. The family is devastated both from the loss of their loved one's health and the necessary income to run the household.
Bills have begun to mount up without any certainty for money to pay the bills. An inconvenient car repair problem has made things a bit more complex as visits to the hospital are now limited to when rides are available.
Music is universal. Music is love.
Bob has shared his muse for a lifetime with us.
May I ask you to share what you can with him and help
his family to continue to support him with the strength he needs to recover?
Pray an extra one for Bob and Jeanne.
They are good people.
