Rebuild Bob and Karen's Swim School After the Flood

In a matter of hours, the recent North Shore floods took away the home and livelihood that Bob and Karen Atwood spent decades building.

My name is Misha Vidad, and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my partner, Kerry Atwood, to support his parents, Bob and Karen Atwood, whose home and business were devastated by this disaster.

For over 25 years, Hawaii Swim School has been a cornerstone of the North Shore community. For more than 32 years, Bob and Karen have also dedicated themselves to coaching the Waialua High School swim team, shaping and mentoring generations of keiki from Waialua to Haleʻiwa and through Kahuku. Their impact reaches far beyond the pool—many of their students have gone on to compete at the collegiate level and serve as North Shore lifeguards.

We are hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover essential repairs needed to safely reopen Hawaii Swim School. This includes repairing and replacing fencing, remodeling the parent waiting area and bathroom facilities, restoring showers for students, addressing damage to the pool’s core mechanical systems, and reinforcing the pool deck where needed.

They have given so much to our community, and now they need our support to continue serving future generations.

We recognize that many families are in need at this time, and any contribution—no matter the amount—is deeply appreciated.

Mahalo for your continued prayers, kindness, and generosity.
