Bo Mackenzie and Tats Stephenson for UKtoUkraine

Bo Mackenzie & Tats Stephenson age 16, are kayaking 125 miles in The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe race in March 2024 raising funds for Ukraine. This is an amazing challenge, the longest non-stop canoe race in the world and is often referred to as ‘The Canoeist’s Everest’. Please support them.

Bo and Tats are amongst 650 competitors and have been training hard throughout this winter with practice races on the weekends. Just to add to their mammoth task, their boat has already been attacked by a swan! They will do approximately 30 miles a day on four consecutive days!!! They will be exhausted!

Bo & Tats feel UKRAINE has been forgotten with recent world events - this is so true. They have chosen to raise funds to support the victims of the dam explosion in remote villages whose homes were devastated by the rising water. UKtoUkraine run by Tat’s godmother Caragh Booth in collaboration with Healing Hands Network reg charity no 1080268.

What will the funds be spent on?

£1000 will refurbish a small home damaged by the flood, the owner is given 3 windows, 2 doors, roof repair kit, plaster and paint. The volunteers and the community come together to get the house back in operation. There are 50 homes currently requiring refurbishment which are outside the Ukrainian government aid package due to their remote locations.
