The home ministry of Nepal said 50,000 houses were inundated across the plains of Nepal and more than 22,000 people were displaced so far. Nearly 3,000 houses were destroyed by floods that also killed about 400 head of livestock. Another 3,700 structures, including schools, hospitals and government offices, were damaged.
