Meet our baby girl, Aviv. She's turning a year old this September 27.
She was diagnosed with Meckel’s Diverticulum, and underwent two surgeries for it. Because of complications, she was intubated and placed on mechanical ventilator to support her breathing.
She is currently at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of St. Luke’s Medical Center QC, Philippines. There, she is also being treated for bacteria infection, using powerful, but expensive antibiotics.
As of posting, Aviv’s hospitalization is already above 800,000 Philippine Pesos (USD 17,200 estimate). And although she is under the social services of St. Luke’s, the balance is still too big for us to shoulder (Van is a freelance artist, while Nikki is a stay-at-home mom). Hospital bills still need to be paid so that treatment can continue for our daughter.
