BLACK FEMME DYKE RECOVERY FUND

~~THE FONT WATERS NEED REPLENISH~~
This summer, our BELOVED selflessly raised over $8000 in funds for Black Liberation, loved ones, queer/trans orgs and legal solidarity / j@il support for protestors… And now she needs major support. If you’re lucky enough to have ever shared space with M, then you probably were wooed by her doe eyes / her effervescent laugh / and that ineffable substance that angels are made of~
ABOUT M: M is a Black lesbian latinx-- biologist, artist, farmer, performer, curator, comedian, spiritualist, and activist --organizing with a vision for radicalized dyke and trans autonomy. She is a forger of safe and inclusive, mind-expanding spaces in queer East Coast community. We hope that our friend can benefit from the same undulations of liberatory care that she lives and breathes for others.
Some background on why we're raising funds:
This summer, our dearest M and her housemates were illegally evicted by their slumlord, pushing her to rock bottom. Cumulatively, the slumlord robbed M’s house of $8000 and kicked them out in 10 days. Due to the sudden move-out, M was forced to abandon hard-won belongings at the dump, including: a 3-year farm of over 40 crops and 20 produce/herb plants and many familial and essential home items. M recently found a new place to live, but with rent at 3x more than her previous home and grad school expenses, she needs support to financially, mentally, physically, and spiritually recover. The artist community at M’s house deteriorated due to the internal struggle exerted by the landlord. M individually lost $3000 due to housemates who vacated without paying house expenses. This funding would help recover the farm loss as well.
Please help support a Black latinx femme and pillar of our community recover from financial burdens, coercion, and trauma. It’s all been too much for any one person to carry. We ask that you add this funding to your end-of-year reparations budget and/or communal support.
XOXO
