Help disabled family after home collapse

Goodmorning,

Please help us reach our goal of $500,000 It would make a world of a difference in our lives

I would like to tell you a bit about myself. My husband and I are raising an amazing 16 year old boy with autism, AD/HD, OCD, a pineal gland cyst in his brain near the stem and Hemophilia. My husband is also disabled and has early onset dementia, is receiving dialysis and is on the kidney transplant list.

My main problem is that I have severe arthritis and several auto-immune disorders. Which hinders my ability to be strong as I used to.

I take care of my family which in itself is a full time job. My husband has dialysis 3 times a week including regular doctor appointments. My son and myself also have doctors to see regularly.

About 6 weeks ago I decided to remove all the trees surrounding the house as I was afraid limbs may fall on the house. The very last tree they took out was a 6 foot pine tree sitting right next to the house.

Afterward I saw a hole in the foundation. I figured a root may have ruined the foundation. The next day they came to fix the hole. That is when the workers discovered the whole foundation was crumbling in on itself. When they started to pull the pieces out they found 4000 gallons of water just sitting under that part of the house.

Apparently the entire foundation was falling apart as it was not properly done. The beams holding the house up were all rotted. There was black mold everywhere. It seeped into every room of the house. The entire interior of the house had to be destroyed. The entire house was taken down to the studs. The main beams holding the house up also needed to be replaced.

Not only did we lose all our belongings in the house but we lost a place to live. My husband, my son and I had to spend 30 days in 1 hotel room with our 3 dogs. Then found an airbnb that would take our dogs for 16 more days.

Our insurance refused to cover any of the damage done to our house as it was not considered an accident. So we needed to pay for all of the repairs including our lodging.

The foundation alone cost us about $100,000 as they insulated the entire foundation and secured the flooring back to the foundation. Then the mold got into and damaged all the wiring and it all had to be replaced. The plumbers found a large rotted hole under where the 4000 gallons of water were, so all the plumbing in the kitchen and bathroom had to be replaced with new piping.

The mold was found behind every wall and throughout all the insulation. They had to rewire and reinsulate the entire house. The baseboards were damaged by mold as well and they had to replace them, close off the one that was attached by steam as the pipe was installed wrong and would not let the steam escape properly.

All of that has cost another $100,000. Now we are trying to rebuild the interior of our home. Everything was destroyed by the mold, so we had to buy new beds, furniture, appliances, side tables, coffee tables, televisions, Kitchen pots, pans, towels, clothes, jackets, anything you can think of to put together a home. We are budgeting $50,000-$60,000 for that.

Then we have to relandscape the outside that was torn apart from the foundation. And replace the generator and air conditioning units that also had to be thrown out and replaced. That is possibly another $50,000-$60,000.

I know you can help us through this devastating time. It has been a struggle for me as I try and balance all of this on my shoulders. Our donations we have received on gofundme, have been sparse. We are hoping to reach at least $400,000. To recoup everything we lost.

Not only would insurance not cover this. But we used all our savings and depleted all my husband’s retirement. So being able to recoup as much as we can from your organization would be a blessing.

There are many ways to give as some people don’t want to give through go fund me. So I will offer two other choices as well.
