Running 100 Hundred-Mile Races to Honor Our Heroes
My name is Billy Richards. I’m an ultrarunner, a veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the US Army, a proud American, and someone who believes that true gratitude should be shown through action, not just words.
Our military, law enforcement officers, and first responders run toward danger every single day to keep us safe. Too many of them pay the ultimate price—not only on the battlefield or in the line of duty, but in silence, long after they’ve come home. Every single day, we lose veterans to suicide. That’s a tragedy we can’t ignore.
So I’ve set out on a mission as relentless as the cause itself: to run 100 ultramarathons of 100 miles each—carrying the American flag every step of the way.
This isn’t just about running. It’s about honoring sacrifice, raising awareness, and reminding every veteran and first responder struggling with invisible wounds that they are not alone. With every mile, I want them to know we see them, we value them, and we will keep fighting for them.
But a mission of this size takes support. Race entries, travel, gear, nutrition, and recovery add up quickly. I’m asking for your help to make this journey possible—so that every finish line becomes a rallying cry against veteran suicide.
Here’s how you can help:
Donate what you can—every dollar makes a difference.
Share this page with friends, family, and fellow patriots.
Follow along as I take on each race, flag in hand, heart on fire.
I’m not stopping at one race. I’m not stopping at ten. I’m going all the way to 100—because the fight for our heroes is worth it. Together, we can honor their service, their sacrifice, and their lives.
Let’s run for those who can’t. Let’s run to save lives.
